Students from across the country and around the world will be paired with a 'pen-pal.' Each month, these pen-pals will "travel" to a different country by reading a book (each partnership will read a different book yet all surround the same country). During our virtual monthly meetings, we will gather as a group to discuss what the students learned and participate in related activities. These may include creating a world map and pinning the countries they've "visited" through reading, as well as gathering recipes to share meals inspired by the cultures they are learning about. During these meetings, there will also be a breakout room where the pen-pals can discuss their individual books.
